My reel

Hey everyone, here's my reel.

Artist Statement: I don't aim for anything more than making films that people enjoy. Whether it be because of aesthetic appeal, if it's funny or tells an engrossing story, if it makes a person think; whatever the viewer gets from it, I just want to make something that can be watched and enjoyed. If the viewer is entertained and if I feel they are because of what I did then I have succeeded my mission as a film artist.

  1. I like the lighting in most of your shots, and the composition as well. The music didn't fit some of the darker scenes, but overall I liked your reel.

  2. I really like the first shot, it is hard to get something good in the dark. Also, the church scenes were well exposed.

  3. Seth,

To begin, your artist statement is totally your voice!! I can definitely hear you so much in that and that's great! I also see a lot of your style in the shots, but also in that music choice! It's weird, and yet somehow works... And I feel like that is a classic Seth move! Your shots are really great! Some are a bit shaky, but again they seem to work and fit. Overall, I really liked your reel! It was fun and I just can't get over how "you" it was! Great work!

  4. I enjoyed how you captured your "Style" in your reel. I also enjoyed your artist statement, very genuine, and it's good to do things the way you like them instead of how you think others will.

  6. Oh cool, love the opening shot of the glowing tree. Your reel is so fun, your personality really shows through. I really got into that hallway tracking shot.

  7. Great reel. I didn't think the music fit so well though. Maybe something a little bit deeper to fit better with those deeper shots. You did a good job lighting most of your shots!

  8. Loved your reel! I would have preferred different different music. Lots of versatility in your shots, helping to show that you can work with any situation. Way to go!

  9. I like your assessment; it's short, to the point, and I think captures you intent as a film maker. I can say that after watching the reel, and working on the some scenes with you that the entertainment of the audience is paramount, and I think you do a good job of delivering on that.

  10. I like your shots but i have to agree with some people about the music. While it was great with the lighter shots and fit perfectly with the church scenes, I personally would go with something slower with the darker shots or mix the dark shots in with the lighter shots. However since there are very few dark shots it really doesn't hurt the reel to much. Good job!

  11. I thought that was a pretty good reel, overall! I would have held on the opening shot a little longer, and probably not have returned to it since you have plenty of footage. Great editing of the skyfall scene in here, and I think you chose the best shots from that except the one that was a closeup of her seemed a little out of focus. I think it was a good variety, though, and I liked the music! Good job! :)
